Abstract


The Effects of Organizational Democracy on Employee Performance: The Mediating Role of Organizational Identification
In many studies, it is stated that organizations can achieve their organizational goals through increasing employee performance. Therefore, many researches focus on the factors that affect employee performance and it is intended to contribute to the employee performance literature in this study. Thus the aim of this study is to determine how employee performance is related to the dimensions of organizational democracy and to analyse the mediation effect of organizational identification in this relationship. The research was done on 174 employees working in 39 different retail companies operating in Aydın by using survey technique. According to the results, all organizational democracy factors positively affect employee performance both directly and indirectly through organizational identification. These results show that organizations should give importance to organizational identification and organizational democracy factors in order to increase employee performance.
